2CBD FM is a community radio station which broadcasts to the Glen Innes and Deepwater regions.

Deepwater and Districts Community FM Radio Inc. operate studios and administration at Glen Innes with transmission equipment located at Glen Innes and Deepwater. 2CBD is a volunteer organisation incorporated in April 1997 for the purpose of providing a community radio within the Glen Innes district.

2CBD operates on a non-profit basis.  Around 40 volunteers carry out the many functions of operating the studios and administrative functions.

We are passionate about providing local information to our listeners, as well as entertainment to suit a wide variety of tastes.

Milestones

Some of the significant events in the growth of 2CBD FM are listed below.

1997 Deepwater & Districts Community FM Radio Inc. is registered under the NSW Incorporations Act. Broadcasting commences on 105.9 FM (later changed to 91.1 FM) with studio and transmission tower set up at the Deepwater railway station.
2004 Broadcasting commences from Glen Innes on 105.9 FM from a studio and transmission facility in an old council water treatment plant building at Martins Lookout. The overall program then consisted of shows presented from both Deepwater and Glen Innes studios.
2016 Official opening of the Glen Innes Radio Centre, the new home of 2CBD. Studio facilities are consolidated at Glen Innes and the Deepwater facility is converted into a re-transmission of the signal from the Glen Innes transmitter.
2017 Upgrades to the Deepwater transmission facility result in significant improvement of signal coverage
2019 Transmission facilities are built in a new location in Glen Innes. Broadcasting from this new site with a new, higher powered transmitter commences.
